  • What is the lead time for wedding parties?
    We recommend booking a consultation 7-8 months prior to your wedding day. Ideally we would like to fit your party for size 6 months prior to your wedding. Your final appointment would be for alterations which are booked for 6-7 weeks prior to your wedding day. The lead time is flexible however to ensure we can order the suits/sizes required we ask that you book in as close as possible to the above.
  • Do I need to make an appointment?
    No, you don't need an appointment and are very welcome to pop into store any time during our opening hours. Please note however we can get very busy at weekends due to booked appointments which do take priority. Therefore if you do just pop in and we have appointments running there could be a wait for assistance/a changing room. In view of this, although you don't require an appointment we would strongly recommend booking.
  • What happens during an appointment?
    This depends on which appointment you are booked in for. CONSULTATION - this is the first appointment where you come into store and have a look/try on of the styles on offer. You will have a dedicated member of staff to guide you through and assist with colours, fit and what style would work with your theme. We ask that a max of 3 people attend this appointment to keep focused on what the bride & groom want for their wedding. Additional people can attend but please let us know prior to your appointment. This appointment is booked for 1 hour. INITIAL FIT - this is when your group come in and we fit each person for size. This is when you order your suits and pay for them. The order is then placed with the relevant brand for the sizes required. ALTERTIONS FIT - your group attend this final appointment to put their suits on and for us to make note of what alterations are required for the perfect fit.
  • What if I change size?
    Your suits are ordered based on the sizes noted during your initial fit which is around 6 months prior to your wedding. We ask that you remain as close as possible to the weight/size you were during this fitting. We are able to accommodate a little weight loss/gain with alterations and we are happy to swap for sizes that we stock. If a completely different size is required due to shape change there will be additional costs added for this.
  • When do I collect my suits?
    Once you have been in for your alterations appointment - around 6-7 weeks prior to the wedding we provide you with an ESTIMATED return date from our tailors. This date is when your suits are due back from the tailors to us and are not necessarily the date when they will be ready. We aim to have your suits back with is 3 weeks prior to your wedding. Once back with us your suits will then be steamed, allowed to dry then placed in plastic suit wrap. If you have purchased suit bags from us they will be put in these ready for collection. Once they are ready we will contact you and arrange a date for collection.
  • Does my whole wedding party need to come back after the alterations appointment?
    People who have had standard work will not need a further fitting in store - those suits can be collected by the groom and tried on at home. There are occasions when additional fittings are required to check alteration work due to the alteration being more complicated however this will be discussed with the individual concerned in required.
  • What if I have taken my suit and I feel more work is needed?
    We aim to have your suits ready around 3 weeks prior to your wedding. This timescale allows any further work to be done and ready in time for your big day. We ask that when you collect your suits that everyone try them on as soon as possible to ensure they are happy with the work that has been completed.
  • Do we get suit bags?
    Your suits are put in plastic suit wrap when ready to protect them. You are welcome to purchase suit bags from us at an additional cost however they are not included in the price.
  • Are suits available to hire?
    Our suits are for purchase only and not for hire. We offer competitive discount packages for groups and bespoke packages upon request.
  • Do you stock boys suits & accessories?
    We stock a range of matching suit for adults and children. We do not stock any other childrens clothing or assessories.
  • Are alterations included in the price?
    Alterations are not included in the price and are to be paid for prior to being sent to the tailors. The cost for alterations depends on what work is required.
  • When getting the sizes needed will my party be fitted with the style I want?
    Where possible we fit using the style/colour that you have chosen for your wedding. Unfortunately we cannot always guarantee having the sizes needed in stock however. In those circumstances we use an alternative colour from the same brand and the same fit.
  • When is payment for the suits/alterations?
    You pay for your suits at the initial fit appointment. This is the appointment where we obtain the sizes required for everyone and your order is placed. The payment for the suits being ordered is in full. Alterations are paid for at the alterations fitting.

IN STORE TERMS & CONDITIONS

FORT FORMALWEAR TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 

Customers are asked to carefully read our Terms and Conditions below


PAYMENT OF ORDER


a) Customers are required to pay a 100% NON REFUNDABLE payment on the date of ordering their suits.


b) When purchasing a suit from the rail rather than ordering 100% must be paid and the suit taken home on purchase.


c) ALL ITEMS REMAIN THE PROPERTY OF FORT MENSWEAR LTD UNTIL PAID FOR IN FULL and may not be removed from the premises until full payment is received.


d) Monies are NOT REFUNDABLE or transferable to other orders. Once goods are ordered you have no rights if you simply change your mind (Sale of Goods Act 1979).


e) e) Customers should retain their sales contracts, and any other receipts as proof of purchase, and be sure to have read these TERMS AND CONDITIONS and fully understand the obligations herein.


f) All items purchased including suits and all accessories are non-returnable/refundable.


CANCELLATION OF ORDERS


a)Customers who cancel their sales contract are NOT entitled to a refund of ANY monies already paid up to and including the cancellation date. Please be aware that once suits are ordered minimum cancellation periods from suppliers apply to FORT Menswear, and under NO circumstances can this be changed. Suit orders will still have to be paid for in FULL if the wedding is cancelled for whatever reason. Costs will still be incurred to the suppliers and to FORT Menswear regardless of ANY circumstance.


b) For reasons of hygiene ALL ACCESSORIES, including shoes, which have been removed from the premises once paid for cannot be refunded or exchanged.


c) Shoes ordered for sizing must be tried on in-store so they can be exchanged in the condition received and within the time period set by the supplier if another size/style is required.


SIZING 


a) At the time of ordering, the customers body measurements will be taken. The customer’s order form will state what size suit will be ordered.

 

b) After the sales order contract has been signed and order placed, FORT Menswear CANNOT AND WILL NOT accept any responsibility in respect of any changes which may occur to the customers body measurements along with any subsequent alterations fees that occur.

 

c) It is the customers responsibility to communicate any significant changes to measurements as soon as possible.

 

d) Whilst suits can be taken in by tailor , it is NOT recommended that a suit is taken in more than a maximum of 2 sizes as this will adversely change the style and fit of the suit.

 

e) Suits can be made slightly bigger with alterations however please note that the options for this are limited.

 

 

DELIVERY OF ORDERS

 

a) FORT Formalwear cannot provide an exact delivery date for orders. This is dependent on current demands and will vary between brands.

 

b) FORT Formalwear will be able to give an approximate indication of a delivery month at the time of ordering, but this cannot be guaranteed and can change according to the brands commitments.

 

c) In the very unlikely event that a suit delivery will not meet the intended wedding date, FORT Formalwear cannot be held responsible.

  
ALTERATIONS


a) The purchase price of all suits and accessories EXCLUDES all costs in respect of alterations or fitting work howsoever this service is provided.

 

b) Fittings and alterations will not be carried out on any suit that is not fully paid for, under any circumstances.  If on a payment plan, the second payment is required at the alterations fitting along with the alterations cost.

 

c) FORT Menswear can recommend the services of a local tailors who provides independent alterations services (if the use of ours is not requested) but recommends that the grooms party undertake their own due diligence with regard tailor services.

 

d) Customers of FORT Menswear are not obliged to use the recommended seamstress for alterations, and any contract for fitting & alterations is wholly with your selected seamstress.

 

e) Payments for alterations services are to be paid prior to any work being done.

 

f) The suit brands tack pockets and vents.  These are left tacked however we can untack if requested.  Any damage caused to the suits by way of individuals untacking their own pockets and vents is not the responsibility of FORT Menswear.

  

  

STORAGE & COLLECTION


a) FORT Menswear can store your suits free of charge.

 

b) when you collect your suit/s you will have the opportunity to inspect the suit and check it is in acceptable condition.

 

c) once the suit/s is handed over, full responsibility is handed over to the customer, and FORT Menswear cannot be held responsible for any damage caused once the items are taken from the premise.

 

d) All suits must be cared for properly and handled with the correct care and attention. FORT Menswear will not be held accountable for issues with the suit/s associated with mishandling or lack of care and attention when handling.

 

e) Suit bags are not included in the price.  Suits are placed in protective plastic wrap however suits bags can be purchased from us at a separate cost.   We can place your suits in the suit bags ready for collection.

 

f) If customers do not collect their goods after 3 months of trying to make contact the contract will be deemed cancelled without any further notification and any monies paid will not be refunded.
